When Mandy + Mark told me they wanted to do their engagement session in Boone, of course I was over the moon. When they told me they were thinking about doing some at Rough Ridge... well I was over one of Saturn's moons. Rough Ridge was regular spot for me in college. Many a Saturday were spent hiking up Rough Ridge, and I was always so grateful that the parkway was in my backyard.
Well, the parkway isn't in my backyard anymore (very sadly), and it's a little too long of a trip to make every Saturday, but when I do get the chance to go back, I feel right at home again. Which is why I knew I was going to LOVE Mandy and Mark, right off the bat.
Their engagement session was chilly, and we drove around Boone, hitting up all of their favorite spots. We started on campus, headed up to Howard's Knob, had a necessary pit stop on the side of a random road, went to Moses Cone, and finally landed at Rough Ridge, where some of my favorite images EVER were captured.
Needless to say, we spent a good amount of time in the car together, and I was so grateful to get the chance to know Mandy + Mark (you know, without them having a camera pointed at their faces). I am so excited for their wedding in October!
Mandy + Mark, thank you for such a fantastic day!
(Attention all future clients: if every single one of you wanted to do a session at Rough Ridge, that would be just fine with me :)
